Wrist Academy is a virtual place where a Think Tank of experts gathers to collaborate and to develop and spread the knowledge in the field of diagnosis and treatment of wrist pathologies.

The wrist joint is the cornerstone of hand function. This joint has a role of fundamental importance in orienting the hand in space: it must simultaneously possess characteristics of extreme mobility and stability, to allow precision and strength in the execution of various manual activities.

Pathologies affecting the wrist joint most frequently have traumatic and degenerative-inflammatory causes, and can affect individuals of all age categories. More often, the young adult population in full working age is affected: this leads to a significant social impact of these pathologies, in terms of temporary and often permanent reduced working capacity.

Modern wrist surgery has undergone a revolutionary transformation following the introduction of arthroscopy.

The use of miniaturized arthroscopic instruments for the diagnosis of wrist pathologies has made it possible to achieve an accuracy close to 100%. Likewise, the application of these methods in the treatment of wrist pathologies allows us to optimize the restoration of joint function, also allowing us to accelerate functional recovery and reduce time off work.

Wrist Academy is also open to “sympathizers” who want to get closer to wrist surgery and to patients who seek to understand the disorders that limit the functionality of their wrists.

The site collects informative content on wrist pathologies, their treatment through open or arthroscopic surgery and rehabilitation, with particular attention to innovative and minimally invasive techniques, and references to scientific training and updating events on cutting-edge methods in the specialized field of wrist surgery.
